IN MEMORY: SKY+FACE !!

"Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle Autumn rain.
When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep".
- An Indian Memorial Poem

I haven't been in the best of health and general mood during the week has been down but in all these work had to be done.

I had a few client complains that needed attention and prompt solutions to be meted out. I joined my driver for his usual deliveries and supply schedule so I use that opportunity to meet up with them personally.

One after the other, I handled the very simple ones to the complex ones, and for those that needed further attention, assurances were given to them that action would be taken to their best interest.

As we went along, I felt a little tired and decided I get myself some refreshment of a sort since I am not a big fan of Energy drinks. I spotted a mini mart around and pleaded with my driver to pull the breaks so I get something. He did and I got of the van heading straight to the mart. Approaching the mart, I coincidentally hit my foot against a stone which drew the attention of the people in-front of the mini mart who were also getting one thing or the other from the same mart I was approaching. Immediately I raised my head up so I take a few steps to the mart for the attendant serves me. In the process of raising my head, I saw an inscription on the side of the mart, a dress- makers shop written in chalk, SKY FACE.

Immediately, I startled a bit and went further to have a real look at it if it was a spelling mistake or for real written right. The latter was the case, very well written as you can see from the photo taken and attached to this post. I then took out my phone and took a couple of shots. After getting back into the van, I took out my phone to look at the photo captured.
SKY+FACE

It then dawned on me for a brief moment that yes I really missed my favourite cousin who was that selfless and always happy to make you happy.

I still remember when our house attire came through and we were to receive them from the bursar's office, immediately you got yours you wore it right in front of the library of Nifa Secondary School and walked up the hill to our 1B1 classroom to the amazement and admiration of many.

Till this day, we all know you created a vacuum in our hearts but we mourn no more Nana Kumi, we believe as a family as well as your close friends and mates that you are definitely resting in perfect peace.

STILL CONTINUE TO REST IN PEACE AND HOPEFULLY WE SHALL MEET ON THE OTHER SIDE.

AN UNCONDITIONAL LOVE EXPRESSED – ‘I SEE YOU MUM’

A philosopher once stated WORDS really do not have meanings; WE make meanings out of WORDS.

I never got to understand this until a few conversations with some learned friends who broke it down citing examples and also trying to explain from the mind’s eye of this philosopher.

One fine morning, I was a bit tired after a few paper works and decided to log unto Facebook to monitor my timeline on what was running through. I am not a fan of long statements especially when I see the ‘See more’ blue inscription. Scrolling down this particular item from some of the few people I like to read their stuff on my timeline caught my attention. It was a poem so I followed and by the time I was done reading, I was taught another side of love and how it’s expressed.

The writer, a very good friend and yes a good poet at that penned this and shared it with the entire world. But if you missed it and haven’t read it, I bring to you this wonderful piece for which if I am to nominate on any poetry platform, I would gladly do.
It really hits to the core. A lovely piece I will want to have as a copy for myself hence shared here on my blog.

Read on;

I see you mum
I thought i saw you smiling
At the sight of dawn
Though you were but a figment of my imagination
Not that I am hurt
I just miss the purity of your love

I see you mum
With every ray that hits my eye
Dark clouds decide to cover the sun
And i lose sight of you again
No, I am not sad
I just miss your beautiful smile

I see you mum
Singing in the kitchen
I rushed in
Not like I expected the chance
I just miss that sweet voice of yours

I see you mum
Walking pass me at the mall
So I touched you
You turned and looked so different
But I could swear it was you
That long silky hair of yours was the reason

I need you mum
Yes, I have said it
With my heart turning to stone
I need a way out
14 years after, I am wandering

I need you mum
I never finished my cooking lessons
Halfway through
I left and you did too
I came back mum
Why wouldn't you?

I need you mum
Too many people deceiving me with love
How do i tell the right one?
Without you to scrutinize?

I love you mum
Do I even have a choice?
You never failed to see that star
Which existed in my eyes

I love you mum
You genuinely believed I was a special child
That believe kept me going
Did you do that to help me push on?
When you are gone?

Mum, I am all matured now
How I would've pampered you
I am not angry
Neither hurt
I just believe life was most beautiful
When you were around.

Need I say more? I guess not. Very touching right? Honestly we should be grateful to the creator for such gift He grants unto people to bless others. I am sure all the pain they go through to pour out their heart goes a long way to encourage others to push on in life.

LOVE is indeed real and each and everyone of us must make it a point to let all that matter feel and know how well you love and cherish them if the opportunity is available.

#WhatJayZSaidToSolange - The Meme funside!!

Trust the new era of technological advancement to highlights every little thing into a massive spectacle. That notwithstanding, social media aside it's much tauted benefits can really create humour to the core no matter the situation whether a serious one or not.

It is obvious that during the weekend, one of the famous celebrity families had a brawl and guess where, in an elevator after an event. May be this is the tweet that sparked all the wahala after the incident happened. This tweet has since been deleted thanks to TMZ for this one.

On Monday, popular celebrity gist TMZ released a few post Met Gala footage in what appears to be Solange, Beyonce's younger sister wailing or better ranting at Jay Z in an elevator.
Immediately the footage was released, people took to the various social media platforms, to create either their own opinions of what might have caused that scene, asked questions or get answers to the scuffle exhibited by the footage.

Initially I decided to storify ( Check Out my STORIFY profile) the fun and excitement that went on especially that on twitter but after going through a few more of the tweets, I decided to blog this. My reason, the MEME funside that were blotted online really made me laugh my ribs out.

If you missed some of them, well don't worry, that's the reason for this post. Immediately after the footage was released, the hashtag that came up was #WhatJayZSaidToSolange. And in a few minutes, it was trending on the social media site Twitter.

Sit down, relax and enjoy my side of how things transpired on the platform. I look at the meme version of the brouhaha.

Thinking I had had enough, I chanced on this Vine clip of how many times Solange hit Jay Z, and that blew my head off (I am still alive anyway with my head on...lol). Watch this!

There are many more flying all over social media especially on twitter. Just follow the hashtag link I placed in the earlier paragraph and you'll get more of such meme being paraded.

I hope I made you crack up your ribs a little. Thanks for stopping by my blog once again.

Appreciation of LIFE worth Expressing

In the early hours of Tuesday 11th March, 2014, I woke up having a lot to do spanning various things I was working on.

One of these duties was going through my old stuff checking up for some documents to be used for some applications for an Msc program.
In going through all those files and brown envelopes that contained most of my papers, I chanced on my hospital cards.

One thing that immediately struck me was the dates on those cards. The year in question was in 2008. The first card indicated 4/1/2008 which if I can recollect, was when I felt sick from some stomach upset from an out eating I had the day before. The second hospital card's date was 28/4/2008. This second card was issued at Hohoe Government hospital after I been involved in an accident a day before on the Kpando- Hohoe link steel bridge. Our car veered of the steel bridge somersaulting twice heading into the river the bridge was over. What happened next?....... The Grace of God I Believe.

Neither myself nor my boss I was driving with sustained any major injury and that was the my reason for the check up the following day for a thorough examination. The car though wasn't useable again as it was sold to scrubs a few weeks after.

As I have always insisted and expressed, I am an Appreciator of Life not because I am lucky, but I am blessed. I personally Believe it wasn't my time and still my time to leave the face of this earth till I fulfil what I am to do. Be dedicated to whatever faith you find yourself and be strong. Have the utmost faith and be steadfast. I am a Christian and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Before I go I will leave you with this food for thought :

Certainly, we cannot contend the reality of our thoughts and utterances working for or against us. In Swami Vivekananda’s words “Never think there is anything impossible…it is the greatest heresy to think so.”
I believe words have magical powers to heal and hurt… like the hands of our imaginations they have the ability to create memories for the events of our lives…while the hands of time cannot be turned.
With words we are able to exalt emotions and ridicule feelings. Maybe we would begin to appreciate the impact therein contains and begin to build where ruins have been made.
GREEN IS LIFE
More importantly never say to yourself its impossible; just when you are about to give up understand that impossible… with a change of mindset… can mean I'M POSSIBLE!!
Let LOVE reign. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Thank You a 30 Times !!!

My life over the years has seen so many changes and dramatic ones as such. Along the way, I met some true friends, some I still have, some I lost along the way either by location change, settlement, work etc.

In all these, I enjoyed every bit of it. I tried to give my all in many of those relationships I was in with them not forgetting the human nature in me, I am sure I might not have been perfect in some of those relationships, but as I always try to reconcile and make peace, I had this and still have this to say any time.... Life is best what you make of if taking into consideration the opportunities that abounds and surround you, so take into consideration what is right and believe in it and be sure and fast to accept the wrong, apologies and move on.

Last Monday, September 30th 2013, I turned 30 years. That I am grateful to the Almighty God for keeping me and my life to see this number of years on earth. I have gone through tremendous illnesses, and accident that could have taken my life, a stomach disorder that required some operations, and many more that I can't mention all of them here.

On that day, I was overwhelmed by the love showed me by friends from far and near. With my social media networking presence, I was blown away by the various messages and wishes as well as prayers  proclaimed unto my life. Facebook as usual had the bunch, then it turned to twitter and then Instagram, emails, whatsapp and many more. I had virtually all day reading messages and wishes. It was fun and enjoying to know that one had some remembering friends.

Well my plot for writing this blog post, is to express my profound gratitude to each and every one, who called, texted, whatsapped, prayed, Facebooked, twittered at me, emailed me etc. I am very much grateful once again and want to use this opportunity to say THANK YOU A 30 TIMES. may the almighty grant you all your heart desire and all that you wish as well as aspire for. I will never forget this gesture done to me. You will all be remembered.

I leave you with one message: REALIZING THAT YOU TREASURE EXPERIENCES OVER POSSESSIONS MAKES LIFE BETTER.

Cheers!!!

Bitter Sweet Experience - My morning with Brown Gold Cocoa Bevarage

I have always been accused of skipping my breakfast several times.

I have had my siblings, parents and a few friends I have lived with hit me hard on that behaviour. I always and still don't feel it's an issue anyway. I am just not an early eater if I may put it that way.

I remember an auntie who is a retired nurse once visited our home, and recognized this behaviour of mine. I didn't know I had it coming I would have prepared to face her or better still avoid her completely so she doesn't get me to the court room of breakfast eating hence my charges laid to my face amidst scholding and warnings.

One morning I went to the kitchen to pick up a fruit which I do often instead of having breakfast as they all recommend, there and behold was my auntie standing right there boiling water for bathing, the weather was pretty cold. She waited for me to finish washing my fruit then BAM, lectures begun on breakfast and my repeated habit of skipping. Apparently, my mum had told her about my poor and unstructured eating habit. I guess that was where my breakfast issue came up for discussion. Well I guess you know how the conversation will go and end.

Fast forward to my plot for this post. It was on a motive to have breakfast and decided to for the first time try the brown Gold cocoa powder beverage product. I had seen my paps earlier taking it so I decided then let me try this for the first time.

Well I had my hot water ready, then I took my teaspoon for my first scoop of the beverage. All along I had no idea of the taste of this raw cocoa product for which I had heard over and over again that it was a good product, good for one's heart hence healthy for the human body. I then went in for my second scoop, and added a third into my cup. Then I poured my milk into the cup for my mixture to be ready to receive the hot water.

At this point hot water had been added to my mixture and it was time to taste if my beverage was ready to be downed alongside my bread. And for the experience after tasting my mixture is left for you to try and have your own experience........ Gosh!! It was as bitter as the word bitter, I had over scooped the cocoa beverage bit too much that the milk incorporated wasn't even relevant at any level of sweetness. I tried adding more milk, tweaa, the bitterness level was still killing, then I decided to add sugar which I often don't do with my beverages, but still my cup won't respond from being bitter to sweet.

I then went to my paps to ask how and why was it that bitter, and the first question I was asked was, how many scoops of the teaspoon did you take and I told him, three , immediately he burst out laughing at me. He even continued to tell me a story about his cousin who came to visit him one day and thought that was milo therefore scooping a lot of it and could not tackle it. He told me because of its bitterness, the maximum I should have scooped was one and a half. Funny enough he picked a phone and called my mum to join in the hooting session, soon my mum was on loud speaker and they were both like seriously laughing at me paa.

I then went back to the kitchen to do some damage control and soon I was having my breakfast as they all wanted and expected me to do every morning. Aside all that it was a great morning and the day followed suit. An experience that was well gained. But I promise you I will get my paps and mums, when their time comes where I happen to be on the laughing side I am sure going to blog about it and the cause of it.
As always thanks for stopping by to be a part of my blog. Have the best of your day and week as a whole. Never give up the fight because you can't stop fighting if your opponent hasn't given up fighting back at you.
