IN MEMORY: SKY+FACE !!

"Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle Autumn rain.
When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep".
- An Indian Memorial Poem

I haven't been in the best of health and general mood during the week has been down but in all these work had to be done.

I had a few client complains that needed attention and prompt solutions to be meted out. I joined my driver for his usual deliveries and supply schedule so I use that opportunity to meet up with them personally.

One after the other, I handled the very simple ones to the complex ones, and for those that needed further attention, assurances were given to them that action would be taken to their best interest.

As we went along, I felt a little tired and decided I get myself some refreshment of a sort since I am not a big fan of Energy drinks. I spotted a mini mart around and pleaded with my driver to pull the breaks so I get something. He did and I got of the van heading straight to the mart. Approaching the mart, I coincidentally hit my foot against a stone which drew the attention of the people in-front of the mini mart who were also getting one thing or the other from the same mart I was approaching. Immediately I raised my head up so I take a few steps to the mart for the attendant serves me. In the process of raising my head, I saw an inscription on the side of the mart, a dress- makers shop written in chalk, SKY FACE.

Immediately, I startled a bit and went further to have a real look at it if it was a spelling mistake or for real written right. The latter was the case, very well written as you can see from the photo taken and attached to this post. I then took out my phone and took a couple of shots. After getting back into the van, I took out my phone to look at the photo captured.
SKY+FACE

It then dawned on me for a brief moment that yes I really missed my favourite cousin who was that selfless and always happy to make you happy.

I still remember when our house attire came through and we were to receive them from the bursar's office, immediately you got yours you wore it right in front of the library of Nifa Secondary School and walked up the hill to our 1B1 classroom to the amazement and admiration of many.

Till this day, we all know you created a vacuum in our hearts but we mourn no more Nana Kumi, we believe as a family as well as your close friends and mates that you are definitely resting in perfect peace.

STILL CONTINUE TO REST IN PEACE AND HOPEFULLY WE SHALL MEET ON THE OTHER SIDE.

Sleeping Cha Cha Cha!!

Hey fellow visitors to my blog, hope the year has been good to you so far. As always a pleasure to see you check up on my posts to read away your time.

This particular post is more of a fun one for which I might not waste much of your time.

It happened in the house of God when I went to church over the weekend to worship. Reason why I titled it Cha Cha Cha, I am sure you will find out as you read along and eventually, at the end of it.

Before I push through my theme, I decided to pick out a few quotes that relates to church, maybe in between the post, I might push in some funny quotes about church also.

Church attendance is as vital to a disciple as a transfusion of rich, healthy blood to a sick man-DWIGHT L. MOODY

The Church is not a gallery for the better exhibition of eminent Christians, but a school for the education of imperfect ones - HENRY WARD BEECHER,

The Church must be intelligible to the simple as well as to the shrewd - ROBERT HUGH BENSON

So now let's ride on.

THE CHA CHA CHA BEGINS;

In the moment, we had observed the bible reading, worship, praises and offertory sessions not forgetting that of those who came in with various prayer requests as well as thanksgiving notes.

Then came the moment for which the congregation I am sure had left their comfortable homes to observe on this Sunday, was to listen to the preaching of the gospel. The preacher mounted the pulpit and his session began.

Down the line in his sermon delivery, I spotted one elderly woman ordering her grandchild to stand-up. The reason, the child was dozing and feeling so sleepy that he couldn't open both eyes. Intermittently, I stole a glance to see what transpired. At one point, I noticed the elderly woman pinching the young lad as well as rubbing his face for him to open his eyes. This young chap was so dead feeling sleepy and at a point, the elderly woman had to give up and allow the young man to take that so wanted nap during service hours.

A couple of minutes went by and as usual wanting to know what ensued further, I found out to my amusement, the elderly woman herself dozing off seriously. I happened to see her head doze down twice for the split second I turned. This really brought laughter to my face and few funny thoughts as well as questions. One of the thoughts were, how I wished the young lad had woken up to see granny now competing him.

Thinking I had had enough of a sleeping drama in church that faithful day, midway through the sermon delivery, I found a couple and their beautiful little daughter in a whole exciting drama of sleeping CHA CHA CHA. In between sessions, I found the wife dozing here and there. I thought it was normal somehow especially with the very previous incidence witnessed. But there was a twist to this one. Anytime the wife was in her sleepy moments, the husband will tickle her to wake up.

Moving forward at one point, I spotted the husband also been caught by the sleeping bug. Beautifully, the wife returned the favour by tickling him also to wake up. The husband realizing this, got out of slumber, gave his wife a wink and both smiled over it. This was after say two sessions of tickling each other to stop sleeping during the service. I remember posting this love sleeping session on one of my social media platforms and it really drew some interesting comments from friends and followers.

I think at a point, I also dozed off before the entire service ended. I hope the video coverage camera didn't catch me during the period I was dozing. I again hope you enjoyed reading my church sleeping experience.

Again, thanks for stopping by my blog. Cheers and have a great week. If you see me in town, just say hi!!!

Appreciation of LIFE worth Expressing

In the early hours of Tuesday 11th March, 2014, I woke up having a lot to do spanning various things I was working on.

One of these duties was going through my old stuff checking up for some documents to be used for some applications for an Msc program.
In going through all those files and brown envelopes that contained most of my papers, I chanced on my hospital cards.

One thing that immediately struck me was the dates on those cards. The year in question was in 2008. The first card indicated 4/1/2008 which if I can recollect, was when I felt sick from some stomach upset from an out eating I had the day before. The second hospital card's date was 28/4/2008. This second card was issued at Hohoe Government hospital after I been involved in an accident a day before on the Kpando- Hohoe link steel bridge. Our car veered of the steel bridge somersaulting twice heading into the river the bridge was over. What happened next?....... The Grace of God I Believe.

Neither myself nor my boss I was driving with sustained any major injury and that was the my reason for the check up the following day for a thorough examination. The car though wasn't useable again as it was sold to scrubs a few weeks after.

As I have always insisted and expressed, I am an Appreciator of Life not because I am lucky, but I am blessed. I personally Believe it wasn't my time and still my time to leave the face of this earth till I fulfil what I am to do. Be dedicated to whatever faith you find yourself and be strong. Have the utmost faith and be steadfast. I am a Christian and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Before I go I will leave you with this food for thought :

Certainly, we cannot contend the reality of our thoughts and utterances working for or against us. In Swami Vivekananda’s words “Never think there is anything impossible…it is the greatest heresy to think so.”
I believe words have magical powers to heal and hurt… like the hands of our imaginations they have the ability to create memories for the events of our lives…while the hands of time cannot be turned.
With words we are able to exalt emotions and ridicule feelings. Maybe we would begin to appreciate the impact therein contains and begin to build where ruins have been made.
GREEN IS LIFE
More importantly never say to yourself its impossible; just when you are about to give up understand that impossible… with a change of mindset… can mean I'M POSSIBLE!!
Let LOVE reign. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

How I Spent My New Years' Day

And in a twinkle of an eye, 2013 was over and 2014 was ushered in.

It happened that at the transition period, I found myself in church. We had some friends from far and near who worshiped with us into the new year.

Church was done with and it was time to fratenise. Met some new people and reconnected with a few that I had not seen all year through, some of them were out of the country, some out of town due to job and many other circumstances. We shared some jokes and spoke words into each others lives wishing each and everyone the best of the new year.
It was time to get back home to catch some sleep before dawn broke. I reached Nungua at about 3:39 am and had a call from a very good friend asking me to show up immediately at his new year party. He did the same thing last year and it looks like that is his chosen date for any party of a sort from him. I so turned up and it was also a fun time to be remembered. Here i also met some new people and once again reconnected with some old friends. We had interacted on so many issues throughout the year, from social programs to politics, to religion, to marriage and many topics you can think about.

I decided to leave the venue to go back home at around 4:25 am. In as much as I was enjoying the convos with my folks , I was also in one way being entertained in a lengthy chat with a lady friend somewhere in Europe. We shared how the day went, what we all did on that day and what I was doing at the particular moment up and not sleeping. Well that kept me company till I reached home. I decided to catch some sleep as wanted and the next thing bam, I was drowned in my sleep.

Fast forward, some hours later I was up and decided to clean and fix my room a little. I swept, packed a few things up that were not lying in it right place, took out a few cabwebs, laid my bed with a new bed sheet, and dustered my closet. I was exhausted after that and took a short nap after. Later it was midday, so I grabbed some snack and guess what it was, Vita Milk Chocolate and fruit cake. After enjoying that, I went to the showers and sat down to have a plan on how to enjoy the day, either to go out or still stay indoors resting. So I made a few phone calls and some friends came around my house. Boom, the merrymaking had began, a caucus one too ofcourse.

Some hours later, it was time to go watch the EPL game between the club I support, Tottenham Hotspurs and Manchester United. Instead of watching it at home, we agreed on going to a sports bar and pub to watch it so we can have our freedom to rant and make all the funny comments that comes with watching a football(soccer) game. We then made it to town and when we arrived, we were about 13  minutes late into the game. I was a bit relaxed and was seriously sitting on hooks just waiting for us to go ahead first. Because with our current run of performances, conceding first would have dumpened our spirits of a comeback into the game. Yeeesss!! Was my initial reaction when Adebayor nodded the ball at the back of the Man United net. In fact I was the only true true if I may say Spurs fan in the pub, the rest surely were United haters who just wanted them to loose.

So the game ended 2:1 in favour of my club Spurs and it was all smiles for me and the match day haters of Man United. We hanged around the pub for a little while and we decided to change locations. We visited an eatery joint had some meal and it was about time to call,it a day. On my way home I met a friend who I spoke to earlier at the crossover service. He had wished me a happy new year and was again wishing me for the second time in just one day. It was interesting for me because I had also encountered the same thing some hours back when a female friend also wished me twice on different occasions on the same day.

In all, it was a great day fun filled. I enjoyed every bit of it, I certainly left a few things since I don't want to take all of your time. This is my first blog post for 2014, so I am sure going to be here. Come around my blog often, because I will be updating it with interesting lifestyle post. I love to blog if I have the time.

Wish all my followers and regular visitors from all over the world to my blog the best of 2014. Wish you all have a good one and wish you well in all endeavors. May all your dreams and aspirations be manifested. Believe in yourself and keep pushing till you exhaust all possibilities. It shall be well folks.
